VoiceCandy Privacy Policy

VoiceCandy respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, processed, stored, and deleted when you use the VoiceCandy mobile application.

Information We Collect and Process

Account Information. When you create a VoiceCandy account, we collect information such as your email address and account identifier. Account and authentication information is managed using Supabase.

Text-to-Speech Content. Text that you submit for text-to-speech generation is transmitted to VoiceCandy's backend and third-party speech-processing services as necessary to generate audio. VoiceCandy does not use the text you submit for advertising purposes.

Voice-Cloning Audio and Voice Data. If you choose to create a private cloned voice, you select an audio file from your device. VoiceCandy transmits that audio to its voice-processing provider for the purpose of creating the requested voice model. VoiceCandy does not maintain a separate copy of the original audio file within the application. The resulting private voice and associated identifiers may be maintained by VoiceCandy and its service providers so that you can use the cloned voice in the app.

Generated Audio and Saved Content. VoiceCandy may allow you to save generated audio on your device through features such as the VoiceCandy Vault. Content saved locally remains on your device unless it is otherwise transmitted as part of a feature you choose to use.

Usage and Subscription Information. VoiceCandy maintains information necessary to manage service limits and account status, such as message usage, subscription status, and private voice limits.

How We Use Information

• Provide text-to-speech generation.
• Create and manage private cloned voices when requested by the user.
• Authenticate and maintain user accounts.
• Maintain usage limits and subscription access.
• Process and restore purchases.
• Provide saved-content and other application functionality.
• Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the operation of VoiceCandy.
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

VoiceCandy does not sell users' personal information or voice recordings.

Third-Party Service Providers

VoiceCandy relies on third-party service providers to operate certain features. Information necessary to provide those features may be transmitted to and processed by these providers.

• ElevenLabs — speech generation and voice-cloning processing.
• Supabase — authentication, account information, and application data storage.
• RevenueCat — subscription entitlement and purchase-status management.
• Google Play — Android application distribution, purchases, and subscription billing.
• Railway — backend application hosting and processing infrastructure.

These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies, contractual obligations, security practices, and applicable laws. VoiceCandy does not control the independent data-retention practices of third-party service providers.

Voice Privacy

Voice cloning is optional and occurs only when a user deliberately selects and submits an audio sample for that purpose.

Users should only upload audio and create cloned voices when they have the necessary rights and permission to do so.

When a user deletes a private cloned voice through VoiceCandy, VoiceCandy requests deletion of that voice from its voice-processing service and removes the associated VoiceCandy account metadata.

Data Security

VoiceCandy uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information during transmission and processing. Information exchanged between the application and its backend services is transmitted using secure network connections where supported.

No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Data Retention

VoiceCandy retains account information and application data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain the user's account, meet legitimate operational requirements, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Information processed by third-party providers may be retained according to those providers' applicable policies and service terms.

Account and Data Deletion

Users may delete their VoiceCandy account through the application's Delete Account feature.

Account deletion removes the user's VoiceCandy authentication account. VoiceCandy also deletes or requests deletion of associated VoiceCandy-controlled account data where applicable, subject to legitimate legal, security, backup, or technical retention requirements.

Private cloned voices may also be individually deleted through the application.

Deleting a VoiceCandy account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed through Google Play. Google Play subscriptions must be managed or canceled through the user's Google Play account.

Children's Privacy

VoiceCandy is not designed or intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

VoiceCandy may update this Privacy Policy as the application, its services, or applicable requirements change. The current version will be made available through VoiceCandy and/or the VoiceCandy website. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
